Four-Star Golf...and still the best value around!

The annual subscriber survey conducted by Golf Digest, called Places to Play, has revealed that golfers in Georgia and around the country have high regard for the quality of the state run golf courses.

Six of the eight state park courses are rated 4 STARS or higher. The highest rating is 5 STARS. Here’s how we rated:

Arrowhead Pointe at Lake Richard B. Russell, Elberton    4 1/2 STARS (first time rating)
Meadow Links at George T. Bagby, Fort Gaines                4 1/2 STARS (first time rating)
The Lakes at Laura S. Walker, Waycross                           4 1/2 STARS (up from 3 in the previous survey)
The Creek at Hard Labor, Rutledge                                    4 STARS (up from 3 1/2 in the previous survey)
Georgia Veterans Memorial Course, Cordele                     4 STARS (same rating from previous survey)
Little Ocmulgee Wallace Adams Course, McRae               4 STARS (up from 3 in a previous survey)

Rating Definitions:
4 Stars - “Outstanding. Plan your next vacation around it.”
5 Stars  - “Superb. Golf at its absolute best. Pay any price to play at least once in your life.” (Note: there are only 23 5 STAR courses in the U.S. and none in Georgia)
